Test Includes

Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Mycoplasma hominis, Ureaplasma parvum serovar/Urealyticum, Treponema Pallidum, Herpes Simplex Virus 1, Herpes Simplex Virus 2, Trichomonas vaginalis, Gardnerella vaginalis, Haemophilus ducreyi, Mycoplasma genitalium.

Use

Detection and identification of viral and bacterial nucleic acids in urine and swab specimens from patients with signs and symptoms of sexually transmitted infection.

Limitations

Larger urine volumes may dilute organism concentration reducing sensitivity. Only detects nucleic acids specifically included in the panel. Can detect DNA from dead/non-viable organisms. Results should be considered in the context of the presence of clinical signs and symptoms.

Specimen Requirements

Specimen
First catch (dirty catch) urine sample. Only the first 5–20 mL of urine stream should be collected.

Urine: minimum 5 mL
Container
Preservative-free transport tube (preferred) or plastic urine cup.

Collect first-void urine (first 5–20 mL of stream) into sterile container. Do not overfill.
